Adding contacts to Actimo
There are three main ways to add contacts to Actimo:
Manually – create or update individual contacts directly in the Contacts list.
Importing from Excel – upload a spreadsheet to create or update many contacts at once and/or add them to groups.
Integration (automated CSV / HR system) – connect Actimo to an external system that regularly exports a CSV file so contacts stay in sync automatically.
Use manual creation for small updates, Excel imports for bulk changes, and integrations when you want your employee data to update automatically.

Creating groups in Actimo
There are three main ways to create and maintain groups in Actimo:
Manual groups from existing contacts – create a group from contacts you already have in your Contacts list, then manage membership manually.
Smart Groups (rule-based) – define rules (e.g. department, country, custom fields) so Actimo automatically keeps the group up to date as contacts change.
Populating groups via Excel – upload an Excel file with a unique identifier (e.g. employee ID, email) to bulk-populate or update a manual group.
Use manual groups for simple, fixed lists; Smart Groups when you want groups to auto-update; and Excel when you need to add many contacts to a group at once.
